The library
A free library, run by students, at the Mosalla
Al-Maktabah is the MSS library. The books are in the Mosalla in Frederikke. You pick them up and drop them off in the box under the stairs, and it is free for members.
Quran with translation and tajweed, the seerah, hadith and history. Beside them, books on character, habits and how to study.
How borrowing works
Reserve, collect, read, return. Four steps and no fees.

Find a book
Search the catalogue and reserve the one you want. It tells you if a copy is in.

Collect it
We email you when your book is in the box under the stairs at the Mosalla. Pick it up next time you are on campus, then scan the code on the label.

Keep it 4 weeks
Three books at a time. Your dates are on your library page.

Bring it back
Put it back in the same box, any day, and scan the label again. Being late costs nothing. You can extend once if nobody is waiting.
Most books are in the box before Jumu’ah. If Friday does not suit you, pick Express when you reserve and we get it there in a day or two.
If a book is lost or damaged, tell us. A replacement costs 200 kr, and we talk to you first.
Membership is 100 kr for the school year and covers all of this. Join MSS

Open when Athletica Blindern is open
It is a small grey box in the Mosalla, room U01 in Frederikke, one level down and under the stairs. The door is signed Rom for tro og tanke, next to the noticeboard. Everything in the box is already reserved for somebody, so there is nothing to browse.
There is nobody standing there to ask. Take your book out, and put it back in the same box when you are done, any day. If your book is not there, tell us below and we will chase it.
Your book has a post-it on it with your loan code, so you know which copy is yours. The same code is on your library page.
There is a label in the box with a square code. Scan it and you get one screen with two buttons: I have taken it, and I have put it back.

Join the library team
A few students run Al-Maktabah. Someone has to put a reserved book in the box, and a returned one back on the shelf. If you are on Blindern anyway, that is the whole job.
- We message you when a book needs moving. It says which book, and where it goes.
- You do it next time you are on campus. Any day, any time. It is not tied to Friday.
- If you cannot, somebody else will. It is a shared list, not a rota. Saying no costs nothing.
