SCANDINAVIAN QURAN COMPETITION

Muslimsk Studensamfunn (MSS) invites you to our first ever Scandinavian Quran Competition in 2025. This historic event brings participants from across Scandinavia to Oslo to appricate and engage with the Quran.

As Muslims, we are encouraged to compete in goodness, and this competition deepens our connection with the Noble Quran, fosters friendships, and builds community. Join us here in Oslo to make history, acknowledge the Quran’s beauty, and witness remarkable talents from across Scandinavia.

This competition is open to participants in the following categories:

Hafidh

The "Hafidh" category is for competitors up to the age of  35 

Juz Amma

The "Juz Amma" category is for competitors up to the age of 25

Recitation

The recitation category is for competitors up to the age of 18

PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 participants in each category:

#1 Place

First place will be provided with an Umrah trip

#2 Place

Second place will be provided with a trip to a muslim country

#3 Place

Third place will be provided with a trip to a muslim country

*These are the prizes for the hafidh category. Prizes for the rest of the categories includes Quran retreat trip to the UK, Remarkable paper pro and many more, all of which will be announced in the invitation mail.

Timeline

Here you have an overview over the lead up to the competition

Stage 1

November 4th - January 15th:

After registration the participants will be appointed their audition times. The audition process will be overseen by the judges and they will choose which participants that proceed to the next round.

Stage 2

February 15th:

The grand finale. We invite you to our event hall here in Oslo to witness the remarkable talents that are competing in goodness and displaying the blessings bestowed upon them.

Location

The competition will be part of our bigger "Allah says..." event and will take place at Dream Holmlia (Rosenholmveien 4b, 1252).

Our very own chairman Heval (left) and Imam Is'Haaq (right) have been the driving forces behind bringing this event to Scandinavia.


Imam Is'Haaq has graciously accepted the position as a judge for the event and Heval, together with the rest of MSS and Alkhidmat, will be making sure the event goes smoothly in shaa Allah

Frequently Asked Questions

Who do i contact with questions?

- You can contact us at: nordicqurancomp@muslimskstudent.no


What do you mean with recitation category? 

- The two other categories are  for memorization of the Noble Quran while the last one will be purely for recitation and tajweed skills i.e. reading while looking at the mushaf


Who can participate?

- This event is open for scandinavian males (i.e., anyone holding a passport or national ID from a Scandinavian country) up to the age of 35. Note that the different categories have different age limits.


What about travel and lodging fees?

- Accommodation will be provided free of charge for participants traveling from other cities or countries within Scandinavia. However, travel expenses, including flights, must be covered by the participants themselves.


How is the competition organized and structured?

- The Quran Competition will consist of two rounds, designed to showcase the talents of participants across different age categories. The first round will be a private, digital audition phase, followed by the grand finale event on February 15.


How much does participation cost?

- Participation is totally free, all you need is the correct intentions.


What do you mean with independent or representative?

- If you wish you can choose to represent a mosque, organisation etc. This makes no practical difference and will not affect your probabilities of progressing.
